Founder Late Shri Motilalji Agrawal

Shri Jai Govind Gopinath Higher Secondary School, Mhow has been committed to providing quality education at an affordable fee structure for the residents of Mhow since its inception. This visionary initiative was inspired by the late Shri Motilal Ji Agrawal, whose unwavering belief in accessible and value-based education laid the foundation of one of the town’s most respected educational institutions.
The journey began in 1963 with the establishment of Shri Jai Govind Gopinath Bal Mandir at Company Bagh, near the Railway Station, Mhow. The school commenced with just five students, guided by a dedicated team of pioneering educators—Ku. Asha Agrawal, Ku. Shyama Devi, Ku. Shobha Agrawal, Mr. Kamal Kishore Garg, and Mr. Rajendra Agrawal—who formed the institution’s first teaching faculty.
Driven by the vision of Shri Motilal Ji Agrawal and strengthened by the relentless efforts of the management and teaching staff, the school was later shifted from Company Bagh to its present campus on Pith Road, Mhow. Their commitment, perseverance, and dedication transformed a humble beginning into the largest educational institution in the town, nurturing generations of learners with excellence and integrity.
Infrastructure That Inspires Learning
Recognising that a stimulating learning environment plays a vital role in a child’s academic and personal development, the school has continuously upgraded its infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of education. The campus was transformed from a traditional mud structure into a modern reinforced concrete building with improved ventilation, upgraded electrical systems, and enhanced student comfort.
Today, the institution offers a well-planned, child-friendly campus that promotes activity-based and value-oriented learning. The infrastructure includes:
• Smartly designed and well-ventilated classrooms
• A well-equipped library
• Advanced Computer Laboratory
• Dedicated Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Science Laboratories
• Vigyan Bhavan, inaugurated in 1994 by Shri Hasmukh Gardi, marking a significant milestone in the school’s academic growth.
• A fully equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of 500, making Shri Jai Govind Gopinath Higher Secondary School the only school in Mhow to possess an auditorium of this scale.
The school’s academic journey also reached important milestones when its students appeared for the first-Class X Board Examination in 1994, followed by the first Class XII Board Examination in 1996, reflecting its steady progression towards academic excellence.
Safe & Reliable Transportation
Understanding the importance of accessible education, the school introduced its transportation facility in 1987 with a 16-seater Matador, ensuring that students from different parts of Mhow could conveniently attend school.

Over the years, this initiative has grown into a comprehensive transportation network comprising 20 school buses, providing safe, reliable, and comfortable commuting facilities to students across almost every corner of Mhow, making quality education accessible to a larger community.
